At least one Israeli airstrike hit an apartment building in a beach town south of Beirut on Tuesday, Lebanese state media said, as other deadly strikes hit scattered locations across the country and armed group Hezbollah launched rockets into Israel.

BARJA, Lebanon - Lebanese rescuers scoured the rubble of a destroyed apartment building south of Beirut on Wednesday for bodies or any survivors of an Israeli strike that health authorities said killed at least 20 people the previous evening.

Israel’s air force pounded Beirut’s southern suburb of Dahiyeh overnight, destroying dozens of buildings in several neighborhoods, Lebanon’s state-run National News Agency said Friday. There was no immediate word on casualties.
